I am writing to express my heartfelt thanks for the Pickleball Equipment Grant I recently received from you in May. The support of your organization, NMAPA, is a testament to the positive impact donors like you can have in schools and in teaching children the importance of learning sports they can play for a lifetime. The resources provided through this grant will go a long way toward achieving our outlined objectives in teaching today’s youth pickleball. The equipment has allowed me to teach students from first grade to sixth grade the fundamentals and rules of pickleball.  Students were so excited to learn and practice with this really great quality equipment. At Sandoval Academy of Bilingual Education, our middle school students have been learning Pickleball skills for the last 3 weeks and our upper elementary students (3rd-5th grade) have just begun this week. Our students are LOVING it so far and are so excited about the ability to learn something new. Our pickleball units will last about 3-5 weeks and will cover different things dependant on the age of the students. It is my hope to have a middle school pickleball tournament once all students have a good grasp on skills and rules so they are able to officiate themselves.

I want to thank you for the pickleball equipment for our small school. Mission Lutheran School students have been enjoying their pickleball PE sessions with Coach Marty. They are learning the beginning skills and rules of the game and loving it. I expect and hope that this will spark an interest for more practice and learning during afterschool programs. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into getting this equipment to our school. We did our pickleball unit a couple of weeks ago.  I see my students only once a week and they were able to use the equipment during our three week pickleball unit.  I put out both sizes of paddles and gave the students the choice on which paddle they would like to use.  Most went with the regular size paddle with a small percentage of students that used the junior size paddles. The nets were awesome, and very easy to put together, and the wheels helped to move them to the side when not in use.  I would like to keep the equipment and continue to use it.
